Our pastured eggs:

We are a small farm where our hens roam freely on pasture, protected by our Maremma livestock guardian dogs.

Our hens are housed in mobile ‘caravans’, which are moved regularly to provide fresh pasture for them to forage, dust-bathe and express their natural instincts.

Our hens are fed a GMO-free feed, which contains a mixture of seasonally available grains and essential minerals. The colour and structure of our eggs will change to reflect the seasons because we do not:

·      feed our hens anything artificial to change the yolk colour; or

·      use artificial lighting in our hen housing.

 We do not use any chemical pesticides or herbicides on our pastures.

The stocking density of our chooks will vary depending on the pastures, seasons and desired effect on soil, but is kept at approximately 150 chickens per hectare all year round.
